Project Overview

Castle Hill Primary School is the result of a merger between two esteemed institutions, each with a history of fostering excellence. Formerly accommodating three forms of entry, the amalgamation streamlined the structure to a cohesive two-form entry, spanning the entirety of primary education. Guiding this transformation was Keegans, entrusted to project manage, design, and execute every detail with precision. With Principal Designers and a dedicated Clerk of Works on board, our team prioritized health and safety, ensuring minimal disruption to both students and staff throughout the process.

 

 

Project Details

This was the first project in the Primary Capital programme for Kingston. The new extension is required at the northern end of the site to provide accommodation for Key Stage 2 pupils.

 

Works included:

• Eight new classrooms to replace the temporary accommodation currently in use
• A new library and ICT suite,
• A SENCO office and space for a Speech and Language Specialist
• Improved staff and pupil toilets
• Roof replacement on existing building to match up with new build
• Window replacements on existing building to match up with new build
• Additional playground and community space
• Bulge classroom (a post contract variation)
• New kitchen and dining hall
• Deputy head’s office
• Family liaison room

 

 

Health and Safety Focus

Throughout the project, Keegans prioritised the safety and well-being of students and staff. Our team, including Principal Designers and a dedicated Clerk of Works, meticulously planned and executed the project to ensure minimal disruption to daily school activities.

 

Significance of the Project

This expansion not only provided much-needed facilities for Key Stage 2 pupils but also symbolised Keegans' unwavering dedication and commitment to creating exceptional educational environments for generations to come. The successful completion of this project demonstrates our expertise in delivering complex educational projects on time and within budget, contributing to the long-term success of Castle Hill Primary School.
