Insights from SFPE Manchester 2026

Our Head of Fire Engineering, Ashley Theakstone, had an enjoyable and insightful day at the SFPE Manchester Conference 2026.

The two-day conference brought together an excellent line-up of speakers, poster presentations and panel discussions, all centred around this year's theme: “The Science Behind the Guidance”.

A particularly interesting focus was the examination of fire engineering guidance, the science underpinning it, and how its interpretation and real-world application are influencing project design, decision making and application by fire engineers.

It was also a fantastic opportunity to reconnect with familiar faces, meet new industry colleagues and share knowledge and experiences.

A big thank you to all the speakers and panellists for their valuable insights, and congratulations to the dedicated committee and volunteers of the SFPE UK Chapter for organising such an engaging and thought-provoking event!
