Congratulations Basildon Borough Council and Keegans Project Management team!!
This project has been hugely impactful in Basildon. The site is on the land of the former ITEC Centre and includes 10 one-bedroom self-contained apartments managed by Basildon Borough Council, with a further 6 one-bedroom pods known as ‘Solohaus’ units donated by the Hill Group providing Basildon’s rough sleepers with a fresh new start.
Keegans worked closely with ECD Architects, Basildon Borough Council and Morgan Sindall Property Services to project manage the conversion and the fitting of full kitchens, bathrooms and living accommodation. Residents also receive white goods, furniture, and other essential items for them to be able to live fully independently. Peabody, the Salvation Army, and Basildon Council are now working together having created a joint management plan and referral process. The facility also includes office space and training rooms onsite for support workers, council staff and supporting agencies.
