A Season of Giving: Keegans Partners with Charities to Make a Difference

This festive season, Keegans was proud to support a number of charity initiatives, giving back to the local and wider community.

 

CRASH’s Ripple of Change Campaign

This December we supported our chosen charity CRASH with its "Ripple of Change" campaign.

CRASH is the UK construction industry’s charity helping homelessness charities and hospices with their vital building projects. It unites the industry and channels the expertise and products of companies, to transform hostels and day centres for homeless people across the UK. We know our environments have a huge impact on the way people feel and behave. This is especially true for people who are homeless, and children and adults receiving end-of-life care in a hospice

 

Along with our £600 donation towards CRASH’s Christmas campaign we also held a Christmas Jumper day. It was a fantastic way to spread some holiday cheer whilst raising funds for an incredible cause.

 

Better Bankside's Christmas Gift Appeal

We donated £500 to Better Bankside's Christmas Gift Appeal this Christmas and a team of our staff volunteered their time to wrap the presents.

The appeal supported a number of local charities and organisations around the Southbank, London. Each charity, hostel and community service had its own online wish list, with gift items chosen by that organisation based on the needs of the people it supports. This might be thermal socks and gloves for someone who is affected by homelessness, or blankets, tea, and biscuits for a local older person. All the donated gift items were then delivered to Better Bankside ready to be wrapped by teams of volunteers, so that they could be delivered to each organisation in time for their festive celebrations.

As part of our support, members of Keegans and ECD Architects took the opportunity to volunteer in the gift-wrapping sessions. One of our volunteers, Selin, shared about the session;

 

“Participating in the Christmas Gift Appeal event was a really fun experience for me. While wrapping the gifts, we not only had a lot of fun but also helped local communities. The event was well-organized, and everyone was excited to volunteer. At first, we wrapped gifts that had already been prepared by other volunteer groups, and then we wrapped the gifts that hadn’t been done yet. It was very meaningful to spend time with my colleagues and prepare the donated gifts to be delivered to people in need. I really enjoyed being part of this event and would definitely love to join again next year.”
