Sustainability Planning

Keegans are deeply involved in the analyses of existing buildings with the purpose of advising clients on future energy programming.

Sustainability Planning

Starting with an examination of the existing energy use and CO2 emissions using nationally approved software, we then explore options for improvement. These may involve upgrade of existing plant to modern, high efficiency installations, or replacement with alternative low carbon options.

Existing proposals can include replacement measures of energy generation, such as fitting low carbon energy generators; heat pumps, photovoltaic panels and wind generators, or capture, including; combined heat and power, hydrogen generation or thermal stores. Localised factors which may affect viability of individual options are considered; there is no common theme. Each site must be defined on its own circumstances.

Economic & Environmental Consideration

Working in partnership with the property owner, we consider the economic impact of measures in addition to the environmental effect. Funding sources, such as the Renewed Heat Initiative or Feed-In Tariffs can have a substantial impact on financial viability. Priorities differ, so this is taken into account in any proposal.

In addition, note is made of potential future technologies as appropriate. Recent work of this nature has included, schools, care homes public buildings and domestic properties.

Working across a wide range of sectors

Keegans work extensively in the public and private sectors on a wide variety of residential, education and health, regeneration, commercial and industrial sector projects.
