Fire Risk Assessment and Management

Keegans have in excess of 15 years of experience providing Fire Risk Assessments and delivering Fire Safety Works, predominantly in the public sector. All of our operations are completed in accordance with PAS 79:2020.

Keegans are BAFE 205 accredited and affiliated members of The Institution of Fire Engineers (IFE) and The Institute of Fire Safety Managers (IFSM). We have considerable proficiency in delivering Fire Risk Assessments at Levels 1 to 4 to a wide range of property types, including Housing, Corporate Properties, Schools, Colleges and Universities. We have excellent experience on Level 2 and 4 assessments, including compartmentation and have a good understanding of the specific issues associated with this type of work in an operational environment.

Our Team

Our large team of in-house Fire Risk Assessors have been trained to IFE and IFSM accredited standards. Our Assessors are supplemented by two Fire Risk Managers who are Associate and Technician Members of the Institute of Fire Safety Managers (IFSM) and a IFE Graduate Fire Engineer.

An important aspect of our Fire Risk team is their wider property and construction knowledge. Our management team and our assessors, typically have a background in either Architecture or Building Surveying. We believe that it is essential on projects of this nature that all team members fully understand the details of construction, compartmentalisation and the real-world conditions that they may encounter.

As designers we also have an enhanced knowledge of the Building Regulations and their implementation. We are also highly experienced in delivering remedial solutions including full cladding removal and replacement, upgrading compartmentations, replacement of fire doors and fire alarm systems.

Additionally, our Associate Director and Project Manager Bill Brown has qualifications in Project Management, Asbestos Surveying & Management, and Health & Safety as a Tier 3 nationally accredited Fire Risk Assessor. In a project where site investigations will involve opening-up the building fabric it is critical that the team understand and manage the associated risks.

Working across a wide range of sectors

Keegans work extensively in the public and private sectors on a wide variety of residential, education and health, regeneration, commercial and industrial sector projects.
