We have been appointed by Abri to project manage the fire safety works including removal of and recladding on 4 of their residential tower blocks. 2 of these blocks; Byron and Linden are high rise and based in Slough, and are now on site with the cladding having been completely removed allowing for the removal of temporary safety measures. The other 2 blocks, Mulvany Court and Berry Court, one in Portsmouth and the other in Bournemouth are due to start on site later this year.

The client is funding this project themselves and are seeking funding from the BSF Fund for their Leaseholders.

In addition to project managing this project we are also providing Quantity Surveying, Fire Engineering (sub-contracted), Principal Designer, Clerk of Works and we will also issue the EWS1 on completion of the works.

Keegans were appointed by Abri following negotiations with d+b facades. On appointment we carried out a review of the project plans, contractors proposals, specifications and costs. We were able to assist the client with the production of the Employers Requirements. We also made some additional recommendations including the surveying of the roof which we found to be in poor condition.

We were then able to advice the client that whilst the recladding and windows replacement works were on site it would be beneficial and cost effective in the long term to replace the roof and therefore minimise further disruption to the residents at a later date.

We are currently in the latter stages of the design for Mulvany Court and Berry Court which should commence on site early spring 2021.

We have also commenced the preliminary stages of the next block and a strategic review of their future fire safety works.
