Keegans have been appointed by the Royal Borough of Greenwich to upgrade the existing De Lucy Primary School under 4 year framework with Lakehouse as the Contractors. The refurbishment/extension works were carried out in 5 Phases. Each phase comprised the following:

Section 1
Enabling works  – Form new entrance and extension of play area.
 
Phase 1  – The construction of a new extension block to the North of the existing large hall comprising a new Group Room, Table Store, WCs and an additional Year 1 Classroom.

The existing Stores, Staff WCs and Group Room to the north of the existing hall were stripped out and converted to hall space to extend the capacity of the existing hall.
 
The construction of a new two storey extension consisting of six new classrooms, group rooms, WCs, stores, cellular offices and plant space. The new two storey extension also consisted of a lift and a roof Photovoltaic Panel Installation.

Section 2  
Phase 2 – The construction of a new extension to the stand-alone nursery block including two classroom spaces, WCs and store areas. The existing Boiler plant in the Nursery block was upgraded as part of these works.
 
Section 3
Phase 3 & 4 – The refurbishment of the existing reception including construction of a cellular office, a larger reception office, meeting room and a new small extension to accommodate an accessible WC and an additional cellular office.

The refurbishment of an existing classroom to accommodate a new Staff/prep area including the construction of a three new WCs.

Section 4
Phase 5 – A new link corridor to the South of the existing main school building to connect the new two storey Year 3/Year 4 Classroom block.

Keegans’ quantity surveyor attended bi-weekly design team meetings and liaised with the project leaders and headteacher of the school to ensure the works were delivered as agreed.

We worked on an open book basis and reiviewed all quotes from the supply chain in order to ensure transparency.
