Keegans ‘open for business’ update
We are now into our 3rd week of our home working environment which has been successfully rolled out across the entire business. This has enabled us to continue to provide services to our clients with minimum disruption.
Communication
Most, if not all of Keegans have been using Teams, Zoom and Skype to keep in touch with clients and each other.
Weekly COVID -19 impact Board Meetings
The N-able board are meeting weekly each Monday morning to keep under constant review latest government guidance and the unprecedented disruption the construction industry is faced.
Round up from our professional teams
Our Quantity Surveying team report that they continue to work with clients on a number of activities ranging from pre-contract work, post contract end of month valuations and cost reports. We continue to progress the Early Learning Centre project with Aberdeen County Council along with their planned maintenance programme. We have also been auditing final accounts for Lambeth Council and analyzing tenders for Crawley Homes.
Our Compliance and Safety team report that work continues on our major projects for Royal Borough of Greenwich Building Condition Surveys, London Borough of Newham Fire Risk Assessments and Lambeth Council FRAs which are now winding up with final reporting completed this week.
We have of course had to amend our approach to site surveys and are not accessing residents’ properties or Care Home premises during the current COVID-19 crisis. We hope to continue to arrange access to schools which have closed at present to maintain delivery for RB Greenwich. We also have a large number of outdoor areas to survey which can continue as before.
Our building consultancy team continues to work with a number of clients at various stages of projects such as Party Walls for Epping Forest District Council Garage Sites and London & Quadrant, Right to Buy reports for Royal Borough of Kingston, final accounts for Wandsworth Council K&B Phase 7, Newham Homes Fire Risk Assessments, specifications for Home Group & Leopold Primary School for LB Brent, finalising school stock condition reports and principal designer services for PLACE and Basildon Borough Council and we are continuing to work on the preconstruction stages of projects for Home Group, Stevenage and Befirst to name a few activities this week.
CPD’s and staff training on contractual issues from COVID-19
Our senior professionals have also been running CPD’s and other training to our surveying and architectural teams on contractual advice regarding contractual delays, Notices, Extensions of Times’s and force majeure to ensure we following the correct industry and contractual procedures.
During this unprecedented time it has been great to see our teams, clients and contractors adapting to this new working environment and restrictions, all pulling together, working through projects within the Government guidelines, where we can. Communication is key and during this time if you need to speak with any of our Directors, please find their contact details below. Please feel free to contact us and discuss any matters of concern or anything we can help or advise you on.
