Keegans, alongside our sister company ECD Architects Ltd, are proud to be sponsors of the Retrofit 23 programme at the Building Centre, a new exhibition in central London with an accompanying online and in-person events series.

Retrofit 23: Towards Deep Retrofit of Homes at Scale displays how the deep retrofit of residential buildings can be a complex challenge requiring a skilled workforce, new finance models and collaborative practice at policy, built environment and local level.

The exhibition is inspired by the urgent need to address residential retrofitting following the government’s urgent commitment to reduce the UKs energy demand by 15% by 2023, as well as the long-term goal of becoming a net zero economy by 2050.

Taking place from May 10th until September 29th, Retrofit 23 amplifies the voices of those who are making residential retrofit happen whilst enabling an engaging debate through examples of retrofit projects from homeowners and social housing providers.

Colin Tweedy, CEO Building Centre said: “The Retrofit 23 Exhibition aims to raise awareness within the industry, central and local government level and within the public on the importance of retrofit to individuals, their community and one of the key challenges of our time – the global climate crisis.”

Throughout the 5-month exhibition run, there will be weekly online and in-person talks from leading experts exploring how to tackle the huge challenge of retrofitting our existing housing stock at scale.
