BIM for Social Housing

Keegans’ sister company ECD are currently delivering one of the first (if not the first?) affordable housing schemes in the UK to meet BIM level 2 for Thurrock Council. As you may be aware BIM Level 2 is now mandatory on all projects funded by central government and is being adopted widely in other sectors. However, for various reasons uptake in social housing has been slow. Nevertheless there are significant financial and management benefits for both new build and retrofit projects. Our work for Thurrock Council is funded from future savings to asset management and may be of interest your existing or future schemes for other organisations? I would be interested to know how many other organisation are taking their first steps in to BIM and at level 2 and have started to realise the benefits it can bring to managing their asset.
