As part of our CDM Co-ordination Services Framework with the University of Westminster, Keegans were commissioned for the provision of an additional floor at fifth floor level at 115 New Cavendish Street. This was inclusive of extending all services to refurbish the new floor for use as library space for the University.
During the design stage, the roof void of the existing forth floor level was established to contain asbestos debris airborne particles. It was therefore requested by the CDM Co-ordinator that all debris should be removed prior to the project commencing. As well as total segregation from the students and all works areas.
Roof mounted spider cranes were proposed to avoid the need for road closures, thus enhancing and not delaying the programme.
Our CDM Co-ordinator held regular design team meetings with all parties inclusive of an interactive client. We ensured close liaison with all parties and at all times especially at key decisions within the design development.
