Keegans were commissioned by Knight Frank under their Westminster City term commission to work with other sub consultants including Stephen Levrant Heritage Architecture and Proun Architects to carry out a strategic accommodation review. This review has included the Councils own future accommodation needs along with options for site redevelopment.
Westminster City have a desire to move from City Hall into alternative office accommodation in the north of Westminster, which could represent greater value for money and place staff closer to the majority of its residents.
The team carried out a feasibility study to create and assess scenario options available to meet Westminster City Councils objectives. From the outline design options drawn up, Keegans assessed the capital cost estimates for these designs. Keegans also provided structural engineering services to carry out non intrusive analysis into the ability of council offices to support additional floors.
The options include disposal, refurbishment, renewal and change of use which are currently being presented to Westminster City Council and a decision is to be made on their preferred choice.
